Hydroseeding:

Hydroseeding offers many benefits, it is a cost effective and efficient method of establishing grass and vegetation. Hydroseeding combines seed, mulch, water, and fertilizer into a slurry that is sprayed onto the soil. Hydroseeding will promote rapid germination and growth. One of the main benefits is the ability to cover large areas quickly, making it ideal for erosion control on slopes, roadsides and construction sites. Within the hydroseed, the mulch helps retain moisture, this protects the seed from dying out, reducing the need for frequent irrigation. Compared to traditional methods, hydroseeding allows for faster and more uniform results.

Erosion Control:

There are many methods to prevent the loss of soil, especially from wind and water. Erosion can be caused by many different factors, such as, heavy rain, wind or poor land management. Effective erosion control techniques and water management can preserve property damage, water management and maintain a stable environment. Implementing control measures, such as,

  • Tree planting: Trees and shrubs can act as natural barriers to stabilize the soil and absorb water.
  • Retaining walls: To be used to a slope to hold soil in place and prevent erosion.
  • Mulching: Mulch will help absorb water, protecting the surface from erosion
  • Rip rap: Installing large rocks along shorelines, slopes or areas with a high volume of water to precent erosion and soil washing away.
  • Silt fence: Installed around the perimeter of a work area to prevent sediment from washing onto neighboring properties and into waterways.
